Set 2 : Practice Sheets 43-45 : February 2011

At this stage, I was eager to get the person to actually look like the person I was using as reference. The rest of the body was temporarily ignored. On the last page I drew the same guy multiple times, trying to get it to look right.

Practice Sheets 41-42 : January 2011

In these, I start to show progress and work on smiles. This is the end of my first set of practice sheets.

Practice Sheets 31-40 : December 2010 - January 2011

In these, I started drawing on the paper in landscape, worked more with full body figures, and dabbled in facial expressions. I also drew less sketchy lines, focusing more on outlines.

OLD Paintings

These were probably made early in high school or the end of middle school. The first is a father's day gift, I guess I thought he was cool like a Power Ranger? The second is of a friend's dog. It was actually a copy of the drawing he did. The third is from the manga/anime series Fruits Basket.

Practice Sheets 21-30 : September 2010 - December 2010

Yeah, it was a crappy scanner.

In these, I introduce color, move beyond heads, and begin drawing larger figures.

Radioactive - 2012

A little something I designed as a cheesy valentine's day card last year.

Digimon

Hello childhood.

Digital Works

These are some things that have been sitting around, doodles colored.

What's a Blog Without a Cat?

I believe this one was finished sophomore year of college? I was playing around with pastels and somehow ended up with this.

Force

Despite having some deviance from my actual face, this is self-portrait that I kind of like. It was here that I thought, given certain situations, I could actually come off as cool.

This is another piece where I tried to highlight certain emotions that happen within the body, in this one anger. I was probably thinking back to one of teachers that I had in freshman year high school that pretty much bullied me in front of the whole class. I was angry that I couldn't say anything back, fearing that I would get in trouble. I came home and cried.

Practice Sheets 11-20 : July 2010 - September 2010

At this point I was really into anime and manga and wanted to make my favorite characters more realistic. That and I loved foreign dramas, many of the subjects were from a series that I had watched.

I'm starting to think that I had a bad scanner when I scanned them in. I would scan again, but they are sitting in my room, nicely bound together. Bare with me till I get to 2012.
